Hey readers, happy 12th and FINAL day of Blogmas! I can’t believe we made it to day 12. I hope you all enjoyed this series as much as I enjoyed writing it. If you missed any blog posts over the last 12 days, check out my Blogmas tab on my blog. Today, I’m talking about the occupations that I am loving right now. Now that I am on winter break, I have been spending much more time doing each of these occupations. Even during the semester, I try my best to make time for all of these leisure activities. Check out yesterday’s blog post The Power of Occupation to learn more about why it is important to engage in occupations that are meaningful to you.

Reading
Growing up, I was an avid reader. However, once I got to college, I stopped reading for pleasure due to lack of time. I am so happy that I finally got back into reading again, all thanks to my favorite author Elin Hilderbrand. I have read 14 of her books since May – I’m totally hooked! If you missed my most recent reading list, check it out here. I recently went to a book signing with Elin Hilderbrand where I got to take a barre class with her and get a book signed!

Needlepoint
Two of my favorite bloggers/influencers Carly Heitlinger (Blog; Instagram) and Krista Robertson (Blog; Instagram) recently showed some of their needlepoint projects on their Instagrams. I was intrigued because I like arts and crafts but I am not talented in things like drawing or painting. I used to know how to cross-stitch and crochet, so I thought that needlepoint would be a fun activity to try. I purchased a needlepoint kit to create a bookmark to give to my mom for Christmas, and for my first one I think it came out pretty well! Now I am working on a tennis key chain for myself, and I have ideas of other projects to make for friends and family as gifts. Needlepoint must-haves: a needle minder and embroidery scissors! Check out my IGTV video tutorial to get started.

Playing the Flute
Another thing that I have picked up again lately is my flute. I played the flute from 5th grade until I graduated high school – 8 years. I used to love being part of the band at my high school, but I hadn’t picked up my flute again until recently! I was happy to discover that it is kind of like riding a bike and I didn’t lose too much skill over my 5 year flute hiatus. I instantly remembered how much fun it is and how much I love playing music. Not only is it something that I love to do, but I also get to share it with my boyfriend Ryan’s sisters, which makes it extra special. I even got Jillian a flute duet book for Christmas, which I am so excited to play with her!

Pure Barre
If you have been following my blog or Instagram for a while, this won’t be a surprise. I LOVE Pure Barre and I talked about it in My Exercise Routine blog post. I try to exercise or get some sort of movement in every day. Lately, I have been setting a goal to take 3 Pure Barre classes per week. I feel so strong because of it! It is the perfect way to work out, unplug, and clear my mind. I also recently hit my 100th Pure Barre class milestone, which I am super proud of.

Going for Walks
I have also been very into taking walks lately. On days that I don’t take a Pure Barre class, I love taking my dogs for a walk on the trail near my house or taking a walk to the Boston Public Garden with Ryan. It is the perfect way to move my body, get some fresh air, and enjoy nature or the city.

Thanks for reading! And thank you to everyone who has stuck around for every single blog post during Blogmas. This was my first time ever doing something like this, and I think it was so much fun. But, I want to know what you think! To everyone celebrating today, Merry Christmas, and happy holidays to everyone.
