Reminiscing About AOTA Conference in NOLA

Hey readers! This should have been AOTA Conference week in Boston, so I have been reminiscing about last year’s conference in New Orleans. If you want to check out my blog post summarizing the sessions I attended last year at AOTA Conference, check it out here. I went super in-depth and tried to share as much information as I could. Enjoy! Before I continue this blog post, I hope you all are staying safe and healthy at home. Healthcare providers, grocery store workers, delivery persons, and others who still have to work, THANK YOU. Remember to take care of yourself while you are making the immense sacrifice to care for others during this time.

Last year’s AOTA Conference was so much fun. I’m disappointed that this year’s conference was canceled, but I am already looking forward to next year in San Diego. Here are a few highlights from last year’s conference:

Welcome Ceremony

The welcome ceremony was such a wonderful celebration of OT. There was music, dancing, and lots of excitement. It was a really fun way to kick off the conference and get everyone excited for a weekend of learning, networking, and fun. This was one of the things I was most excited for this year at the conference.

Expo Hall

At the expo hall, I got to try out lots of cool OT equipment! I tried swings, toys, trampolines, virtual reality, technology/adaptive equipment, and more. I also got a swag bag with lots of goodies!

Instagram Meet-Up

This was the first time I got to meet some of the members of the OT Instagram community, and it was so much fun. I was really looking forward to this again this year!

Exploring NOLA

New Orleans is a really cool city. It was so much fun getting to explore the French Quarter and try beignets! I am hoping to go back one day to explore even more of the city. I still highly recommend visiting Boston if you ever get a chance!

Thanks for reading! I hope to see you next year in San Diego!
